Overall Objective: 

To analyse data received from hospitals and insurers, making this information available to internal personnel in order to facilitate the timely payment of accounts.

Responsibilities:  

  • Working with the team to achieve quarterly targets set in the follow up team
  • Attending weekly meetings to go through allocated tasks highlighting areas of achievement
  • Building relationships with hospitals and key personnel within insurance companies to confirm payment status or verify claim details
  • Processing of insurer correspondence and identifying what information is required to get a claim paid
  • Organising the required documentation and sending claims to insurers for processing
  • Analysing insurer correspondence and payment listings to identify trends and communicating this with the processing teams
  • Identifying issues with insurer payments on certain procedures and appealing same with the insurer
  • Extracting required data from our databases via MySQL and SQL queries
  • Perform data cleaning and data mining
  • Expose and present findings based on data analysis
  • Bulk updating accounts with information received from insurers and hospitals
  • Loading of insurer pended and rejected lists and sharing with processing teams
  • Training in new members of staff when required
  • Answering calls from patients in relation to their accounts and other general admin tasks such as emails
  • Ad hoc duties as they arise

Skills:

  • Educated to third level in Business/Data Analysis or related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years previous office experience
  • Strong understanding of MOS
  • Highly skilled in Excel, VBA is a plus
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Must be a team player and willing to help out
  • Motivated to work to deadlines and targets
  • Excellent communication skills
