This is a key role where you will join a Sofomo team working for one of our clients. You will take part in designing, building, and executing data engineering systems that connect to multiple third-party data sources, while also developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
Over time, you will have the opportunity to grow into a full Data Engineer role and build custom data solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of Power BI reports and dashboards, from data preparation to publishing
- Assist in integrating data from multiple sources (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, APIs, Excel, Azure Storage, etc.) while ensuring consistency and accuracy
- Help write and optimize SQL queries for transforming and cleaning datasets
- Learn to develop DAX logic for calculations and filtering in Power BI
- Work with senior team members to design and improve data models (fact/dimension tables, relationships, schemas)
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and data engineers to translate business needs into data solutions
Must have:
- A student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science or a related technical field
- At least basic experience or coursework with SQL and a strong interest in data processing
- Familiarity or willingness to learn Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
- Understanding of basic data modeling principles and the concept of ETL processes
- Strong analytical thinking, curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good communication skills and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Azure Data Platform components (Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL)
- Basic knowledge of DAX and Power Query
- Experience with Python, R or another scripting language for data processing
- Familiarity with Git or DevOps practices
- Academic or personal projects related to data analytics, Power BI or ETL
