Technical Writer – Working Student 34 views

Working Student is a long-term paid internship, that allows you to kickstart your fabulous journey in the IT and Telecom world. As our Trainee you can have experience working in such areas that correspond to full-time engineering jobs. The internship usually lasts from 6 to 24 months. The Cloud and Network Services (CNS) Technical Communication group creates documentation for Nokia products to assist users in reaching the outcomes they want to achieve. Technical writers work closely with Engineering teams in Agile mode to create and verify content such that the information is complete, accurate, and usable. Product documentation is published in multiple formats for optimal user experience

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Create and update customer documentation for Nokia products
  • Plan, designed, write and maintained documentation (including graphics and rich media) for product releases, patches in Agile sprints
  • Verify operations in documentation which can include UI functionalities, installations, programming APIs, and deployment scenarios
  • Handle post-delivery defects or issues in customer documentation backlogs according to processes and standards

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • Active student status at least one year from the time of hire (candidates from technical faculties are welcome)
  • Excellent command of the English language in both writing and speaking
  • At least basic knowledge of the most common XML authoring tools
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment with international colleagues
  • Ability to cope with tight deadlines

It would be nice if you also have:

  • Skills in web development
  • Experience with Linux environments
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, like JavaScript, Python, or VPA
  • Knowledge about version control and defect-tracking systems would be an asset
