By centralising product data in one source of truth, PPG ensures optimised processes as well as accurate, complete information, for publication on websites, and e-commerce platforms. PIM CoE
The PIM CoE team is responsible for the strategy, implementation and roll-out of various PIM projects within PPG, focused on standardizing product information across multiple digital platforms. Currently, the team is deploying Informatica PIM across several Business Units, including Architectural Coatings, Refinish, Aerospace, and Industrial Coatings.
Problem Statement
With the expansion of PIM implementations at PPG, the demand for dedicated data stewards has increased. To address this need, we are establishing a new operations team within the PIM CoE. This team will provide data maintenance support to Business Units that face challenges in recruiting their own resources. The team will operate under the guidance of an internal team lead, who will also oversee training and the transition of new Business Units to the team.
This newly formed team will play a critical role in ensuring the highest data quality across PPG’s digital platforms and will support the PIM CoE in the roll-out of new projects.
Position Summary
As a member of the Product Information Management (PIM) Operations team, the PIM Data Steward will be responsible for executing tasks and activities in collaboration with internal Business Partners to ensure the highest quality of PPG’s product information across various platforms. The PIM Data Steward will ensure the maintenance of product data, execute corrections as indicated by governance reports, process improvements. Additionally, this role will support ongoing projects by performing data quality checks and data entry.

Main Responsibilities
- Maintain product data by accurately entering information into the Product Information Management (PIM) system, e.g. enrichment data, classifying products and setting publication triggers
- Support data governance through execution and analysis of system reports
- Assist during project roll-outs by correcting / adding data throughout the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase
- Participate in process development and documentation to support continuous improvement
Requirements
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel
- Preferably someone with PIM experience but priority is given to following qualities:
- Comfortable working within a well-defined and repetitive scope of responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and solve problems independently
- Ability to work independently
- Commitment to accuracy and timeliness, recognizing their impact on PPG’s online presence
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines in a multicultural environment
- Good interpersonal and organizational abilities
- Bachelor’s degree: a degree in informatics or business is an advantage but not mandatory
