„The complete electrification and decarbonization of global industry
and transportation requires effort on multiple fronts – generation,
distribution, storage, and consumption. In this lecture, we’ll examine
the common denominator of these areas: power electronics, focusing
on its current frontrunner, silicon carbide (SiC). We will examine the
disparities between silicon and silicon carbide in the semiconductor
industry, the challenges and expectations associated with SiC, and the
real implications of transitioning to a green-tinted semiconductor
components in electric vehicles”.
